Kittys Drawings

Please excuse the poor quality photos! This is my complete portfolio – ready for my interview tomorrow. The red is such a nice colour – and I don’t know if you can see the grain of the fabric. Feels nice that

You’ve all seen most of the stuff that’s in there – I don’t particularly like much of my older stuff. And when I put it all together, its only about 14 things I’m really happy with that I’ll be showing. Though it’s all very diverse, which I am not sure if it is a good thing or not but I like to try my hand at lots of things!
There’s the Cult-of-Pop design, my vector kitty, the St Imre stuff, the latest drawing of the blonde girl, some magazine projects I did at school and the 3D renders. And what you can see here is my go at photography! Heh! Well, it’s not very clear. But I took these on a trip to a Yarra Glen classic car show. There were such great shapes and colours! Shiny!

ALSO – I had an idea today. For my next drawing. Which is wonderful when a creative moment strikes. Except I have so many other things to finish off (like that second model drawing which I HAVEN’T forgotten about!)….but the ‘vision’ struck me quite strong and I had to sketch immediately to get the feeling down and the shapes. So now it’s quite firm in my mind and I just have to refine it. I won’t tell you all what it is yet as I’ve got too much of a backlog of other stuff that you need to see the end of. Heh.

Something nice and simple. For now. I’m still tossing up whether I should move to WordPress and start paying for hosting. Jonny at Cult-Of-Pop is currently in the process of nutting out WordPress and the whole hosting thing. Jumped on it MUCH faster than me that’s for sure.

But hey, I’m tight when it comes to these things. Still gotta learn a bit more about web stuff. I managed to get WordPress working on my work computer….using it as a server (managed that somehow haha).

Anyway.
This weekend I am off to Tassie to see my parents —> St Imre Vineyard. I got some letterpress ink and some gorgeous paper today. Also I should have my polymer plates ready tomorrow….Wonder what the flexo plates will turn out like on a letterpress?
Then, I will get dad to make me a makeshift base to mount the plate on and then hopefully I’ll be ready to PRINT. Omg!
I still need to get some solvent that will help me clean the press. IF by chance I have some press people reading this blog, what should I be using???
Well, I am sure gonna take some photos of the Heidelberg to put up here. Stay tuned for that.

I have ideas for the girl I drew last post. Plans for a bit of a series. Yippee. Got one sketch down for that.

Courtesy of MyBabyJo. I won’t be getting it til I return from Tasmania as I doubt it will arrive in the post from the US as of Friday. But when it arrives, I will take some pics to show you. Looooove 50′s stuff….I’ll be sticking to this silhouette for a while. It’s so flattering and I am vehemently against “trendy” things. Most “fashionable” things horrify me.
So YAY for dresses! Let’s say that again. YAY!!

Back on arty things. I’m working on a little icon for Jonny’s blog. I’ll post that soon as it’s nearly done. You’ll soon be able to buy tshirts of it and it will be used on the blog as part of the movie review feature.
